Apologies for missing yesterday but…
06/01/2012 by shaun.
… I have a great excuse. For the last three days we have been holding a pony camp at the stables. Wednesday was the first day of camp and it was a very wet day. Fortunately Katie and I had planned for bad weather so had timetabled camp so all the groups could take it in turns to ride in our indoor school. Thursday was drier and Katies group even went out for a hack in the afternoon. Mollies group invented a great drill ride that they showed off today. My group had two cracking falls, one because of a very naughty pony and the second because whilst cantering one of my riders decided to accidentally loose their stirrups and in the process tried to dismount at speed. Thankfully there was no serious harm done. Phew.
Anyway, today was gymkhana day and so after evening lessons I needed to make 40 rosettes of varying colours to use for prize giving today. Nw whilst I am quite quick at the rosette making is still took me until 1am to complete them and by then all I wanted was to fall asleep. If I had done the blog it would have probably made no sense at all.
So today we had the gymkhana with three jumping classes and then three horse and hound classes. Tess was her usual popular self but Flo was actually greatly improved over the coloured poles and didnt really trip her runner up at all. Tiger was her usual self - so small that the runners could pick her up and run with her. Hamish did this and won his class. We also had two other dogs though, Charlie and Skye, both Amy’s dogs and they were great.
In the afternoon we played mounted games and then waterloo, laps and Mollie’s group ran through their drill ride. It was excellent given that they had only had an hour and a half practice.
And finally, Olski (one of our cats) has finally decided to join the computer age. Here he is writing his blog…
