The first Saturday of 2012..
07/01/2012 by shaun.
..got the year off to a great start but after all holidays my voice is starting to struggle. I think that when I get a break from teaching my vocal chords go all wimpy and then when I start using them again they get strained. So I am now talking with a deep and hoarse voice and hoping that after a rest on Sunday I will get my voice back to full strength. On the plus side, I think that my singing voice improves. That said it’s still dreadful, just a bit better than normal. Of course it could be because I can only manage about half a line of any song before the strain makes me silent, and that way you don’t hear enough of my singing to truly register how bad it is.
Anyway, that’s enough about me. Today, my favourite lesson was the 2.45 lesson. I made the class ride for the whole lesson in a light forward seat. They were a bit weak at it and kept sitting down to rest until I made them play laps in trot in a light forward seat with the threat of elimination if they lost their light forward seat. They then managed to stay off the saddle. I must say the class were all exhausted by the end of the lesson.
And tomorrow, after doing all the mucking out it will be time to start schooling Remy, Jasmine and Henry with a vengeance.
