Lucy is free again..
11/01/2012 by shaun.
..as we let her out of her stable into the starvie paddock with Tisky, Mini and Daisy today. She is showing no sign of lameness now and loved being out with the ponies. At lunchtime she was staring out at the ponies in the pony field running around like loons. Son’t know why they were doing that. I snapped a photo of her, it was some distance away, so I have had to make it a bit bigger…
So other things that happened today. We mucked out super fast today so that Mollie and Katie could walk Neala and then Kate went out for the afternoon. The three of us got everything done by about 11am. I then had no lessons and so got to ride horses today. I went out to catch Jasmine first and worked her. We need to get her schooled for the riding school, which mean I need to get her cantering on the correct lead on both reins. She is fine on the left rein but the right rein has her cantering on the wrong lead. I can’t really call it counter canter, although I would like to.
After that I went and fetched Remy in and rode him. This was the second day in a row that I had ridden him and he was great. Lots of power and engagement from his back end in walk and trot, really nice bouncy canter. Balance when we moved up each gear, and balance in the canter-trot transition. We need to work on the downward transitions from trot to walk. He does them, and he stays balanced but it does take him quite a long while to make the downwards transition. More to do tomorrow but showing loads of promise.
And in lessons tonight we did showjumping. Teddy was great as was Harry. We did have a fantastic fall in the second lesson which was caught on video, just not by me!
